Designing Digital Learning Solutions with Norwegian Refugee Council
Emerging360 is partnering with the Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC) on a series of digital learning solutions to improve learning and knowledge sharing. The collaboration will strengthen NRC’s humanitarian work in 30 countries, as well as the work of a number of other global aid organizations. The projects are funded by a generous grant from the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) to improve humanitarian access in hard to reach areas.
Emerging360’s engagement includes design and development of a 6-module eLearning course for 600 humanitarian aid workers in English, Spanish, French, and Arabic. The course will engage aid workers in scenario-based learning and decision-making related to access issues. In addition to developing the core digital learning solutions, Emerging360 is also leveraging an array of human-centered design tools and techniques to collaboratively design 3 additional platforms.
- A mobile learning platform that enables aid workers to learn in low-bandwidth and disconnected environments. The platform will include micro-learning, gamification, and communities of practice;
- A knowledge management portal for humanitarian negotiations trainers. The platform will allow trainers, content producers, and consumers of humanitarian aid content to easily and securely produce, share, and curate new resources;
- And a Web-based surveying platform that enables staff to submit data related to humanitarian access issues, along with a data dashboard providing real-time tracking and trends projection through data visualization.
Emerging360 has a long track record in mobile learning and digital innovation.
